Adaro Indonesia received ADITAMA (Gold) Award from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources

Adaro’s commitment to the environment and performance is again recognised by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. On October 2, 2012, coinciding with the 67th anniversary of Mining and Energy Day, PT Adaro Indonesia was awarded ADITAMA (Gold) as a coal mining company with the best score in management of the mining environment. This is the third time in a row that Adaro has won ADITAMA (gold) since its participation in 2010.

The Aditama Award is presented to companies that successfully achieve score of 90-100 in managing their Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) program and meets two key criteria based on Incident Prevention and Incident Frequency Rates.

The Indonesian Government, through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, promotes these awards to encourage mines, and their respective Technical Mine Managers, to improve Health and Safety Performance throughout operations.

The purpose of presenting the Environmental Management Award for Mineral and Coal Mining is to encourage Technical Mine Managers to achieve supreme performance in environmental management.

The award was given by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Mr Jero Wacik to Mr Garibaldi Thohir, President Director of PT Adaro Indonesia. The ADITAMA (gold) is awarded to companies that have succeeded in ensuring sustainable management of the environment. The ADITAMA (gold) is only awarded to three companies with the best score in the three sectors of mining, i.e. Coal, Minerals and Geothermal.
